In preparation for the celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday next week, the students will be exploring an interactive site filled with Dr. Seuss activities during their computer class today.
Today students will use an interactive learning tool called Keyseeker to continue to build their introductory keyboarding skills. Keyseeker helps the students recognize letters on a keyboard and prompts them to use the correct hand to strike the key. The keyboard is split into purple for left and green for right hand. The students use bands on their wrists to help remember which hand to use.
The students made their own Senet board game in class. We played a version on the iPad to help them learn the rules. There are many free online web versions of the game as well.
Today the students will be using Pixie to finish their Snowflake Poem project. They will practice changing the way the "text" of their poem looks by changing the font style and color of the text. Each student wrote a cinquain poem about snowflakes in class. This poem has been added to a snowflake picture they created during computer class. Below is an example of what they will be starting with.
