The students will be making a Christmas gift for their Adopted Grandparent at Orange Nursing Home. They will use PicMonkey to crop their photo to 4x6 and then they'll add some winter decorations. Click on the monkey below to start:
We have a special assembly today for Grades 3-8. I will get to see the 2nd graders for two full periods. They will finish their Luray Caverns drawings and some of them will record their narrative which they wrote in class. The rest will do their recordings in class tomorrow.
The students are drawing pictures using Pixie of their field trip to Luray Caverns.
Today we are going to carve pumpkins using an online web application. The pumpkins should match the one in your poem. Here are two different web apps to choose from. Click on the image you want to use. ExampleThe students wrote Jack-o-Lantern poems in class and are typing them into Microsoft Word. This week we will review how to do the following in Microsoft Word:
Students should make sure:
If they finish early, they can change the way the text looks.
Kerpoof Spell-a-Picture is a fun way to practice nouns and verbs. The students will access Kerpoof, click on Spell-a-Picture, select a scene, and the spell some nouns. In the woodlands example below, I spelled bird, monkey, deer, squirrel, flower and bear. Once I had some "nouns" in my scene, I tried some verbs like: dance, jiggle, laugh, hit, and fly. It's fun to watch what happens! Click on the image below to get started. If you want to he Class ID is: Y158
The Second Grade will be practicing their spelling words using SpellingCity.com. The site lets students learn their spelling words, play games with their spelling words, and take practice tests. It makes learning spelling words fun. Just click on the Spelling City logo below to access the 2nd grade words.
We will start the class by reviewing how to log in and start a web browser to access the 2nd Grade Blog.
The class will review the keyboard by doing an activity called Keyseeker which is an interactive learning tool to help kids recognize letters on a keyboard and use the correct hand to strike the key. The keyboard is split into purple for left and green for right hand. I'll have bands on their wrists to help them remember. We will finish the class by closing all applications and logging out. |
