Students will use the Investigations Shapes software today to review math concepts about shapes and patterns while using computer skills to manipulate the shapes to fit in puzzles.
Today the students will refer to the image of the monster they created to fill in a writing prompt that prompts them to write down descriptions with adjectives for the various parts of their monsters. This will be the basis for the written descriptions in paragraph form that they will write when they return to their classroom.
Students will continue to work on creating monsters using Pixie that they will use as the subject of a descriptive writing project. They will be encouraged to add details to their monsters that they will be able to describe with adjectives. At the end of the class the students will select the monster from the ones they created to use for their written descriptions.
