The students will learn about photo editing today by using PicMonkey. They will start by uploading a photo, cropping it to 4x6, and then decorating their photos.
The class is making posters using PowerPoint for their Martin Luther King Day play called "Will the real Martin Luther King Junior please stand up". The play will be on January 19th, 2015 at 8:30a.
Today we are going to use our vocabulary words (Chapter 3 Group A) and learn how to use an online dictionary and thesaurus.
Next week is Computer Science week and we are planning on participating in the Hour of Code. Today we will be introducing the students to some of the concepts of Computer Programming. Students are going to learn how animations are created and make their own. We will start by watching a short video and then they will learn how to use Pivot. Pivot is a great way for kids to understand how animation works. They create frame-by-frame images and turn them into a movie. Pivot is a free application that can be downloaded and installed on a computer.
Today students will practice their Vocabulary In Action Chapter 2 words to get ready for the chapter test. I will show them how to get to the Quizlet games by using the Useful Links located on the right hand side of this blog.
This weeks class will introduce the students to the concept of moving text around. They will unscramble the Pledge of Allegiance by selecting individual words and moving them to the right place. Then they will unscramble the National Anthem by selecting entire lines and moving them to the right place. Here are the two documents they will be using:
