We will start the class reviewing how file systems work and how to access your "personal" folder on the server. We will review how the files on a computer work similarly to filing cabinets. You can have different filing cabinets, multiple filing cabinet drawers, multiple folders, folders inside folders, and then the documents themselves. We will talk about how the computers in the lab are all connected on a network and the server for the "personal" folders are in the copy room by Mrs. Sacre's office. When you click on "computer" in Microsoft Explorer - you can see all the different places you can store/retrieve a file. The third grade students should select the drive "Grade3". Fun with FontsStudents should go to their "personal" folder and open the file "Fun with Fonts". In this activity, we will learn how to change the way text looks. You will learn how to select text, change fonts, font size, font Color, how to make text bold, italics, and underline, and what a toggle is. When you are done, use "save as" and save your work with a different file name. |
