The Kindergarten class will begin their community service project this week. We will be collecting needed items for the Orange County SPCA. Our collection will run from April 15th until May 2nd. Students will be making fliers during computer class to share information around the school. The class will make a trip out to the shelter the first part of May to visit the animals and give their donations. Items can be sent in any time over the next few weeks and I will store them safely in the classroom. We will NOT be collecting dry food items as the shelter has a contract with Science Diet to maintain a consistent diet for the animals. The shelter has asked for the following items:
- Laundry detergent for high efficiency (HE) machines
- Liquid dish detergent
- Bleach
- Rubbing alcohol
- Cotton Balls
- Q-tips
- Canned cat and/or dog food
- Small dog biscuits
- Small, soft, round dog treats for training
- Plastic cat toys (they need to be washed frequently – no fabric or feathers)
- Clean used linens (sheets, pillowcases, towels – no pillows or heating blankets)
