Every Day Life Example
Keeping score is an example of data. When you initialize your game you set the score to zero. When you score, you increment the score by 1. When you get to 10 you level up. The number associated with "score" is the data.
When you fill out a form with your first name, last name, age, and grade - all of these items are considered data.
Classroom Example
In this classroom example we split the class into two teams – the boys and the girls. Both teams start with zero points. The teacher will ask a question. The first team that raises their hand gets to answer. Right answers get 1 point. Wrong answers get -1 point. The first team to get to 5 points wins.
The boys get the first answer right and the second answer wrong. The girls get the next answer right and the boys get the last answer right.
