Below is a link to the ABC book that the first grade class created in computer class to share with the Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes. They used the stamp tool and stickers (like clip art) and photos to create pages in Pixie, and created text blocks to type the letter, their name, and the word that they selected to represent the letter. Finally, they made an audio recording with an original sentence to accompany each page. After they completed the individual pages, a video was created. The first grade has a great time watching (and listening to) their ABC book, and were proud to share it with the Kindergarten and Junior Kindergarten classes.
The students shared some of their favorite books by making book reviews. Click below to take a look at them:
Today students will use the link below to the Summer Fun page to find a variety of fun interactive math activities available to use throughout the summer to reinforce what they have learned this year. These activities include addition, subtraction, money, time, and skip counting.
Today students will be researching the animal they have chosen for their rain forest research project. They will take notes about their animals, listen to the sounds their animals make, and watch videos of their animals in their rainforest habitats.
Today students will use Keyseeker to continue to build their introductory keyboarding skills. This activity helps with finding the letters of the alphabet on the keyboard while prompting the use of the correct hand to strike the keys. Students will use their keyboarding skills this month to finish up their ABC Book projects and to work on their next project about the rain forest.
