The students learned the terms Hardware, Software, Computer and Applications through an activity. Students paired up where one student was the computer and the other the application. The computer had a blank piece of paper and pencil. The application was provided a drawing that the computer couldn't see. The application told the computer what to draw by using words like "shapes" and "locations". Below are some examples of the activity. Some were pretty close, like the house - but others were way off! It's always fun to see the results. The students learned that applications have to be very exact about their instructions for the computer to do what is expected.
