Cooperation Skis - Phebe
The second I put my foot on the stiff board and felt the cool water from the wet grass soak through my soft shoe, I knew it would be a challenge. Then I heard that bold word…" LEFT!" Everyone’s feet drifted through the air like little dust particles floating on the wind, It was like a flock of black birds taking flight. Shooting straight up, their wings pushing them to go higher. Then "Boom!" It was like an avalanche of heavy snow tumbling down a tall steep mountain. Everyone’s feet came falling down on to the soft green turf. It sounded like thunder, big and loud. I was on the cooperation skis: planks of wood with pieces of rope tied to the boards. There can be five to seven people on a board. There is also a two person ski. The whole point is to work together. It was my favorite part of the field trip. The reason I liked it the best was because I got to work with, know and trust my classmates. On the way back, I thought that even if it was the first field trip of the year, I think it will be the best.
