The third graders have been working on poetry. They have written haikus, cinquains, and diamantes. They have put their poems together with their typing practice and PowerPoint skills to create the presentations below:
The third grade studied about the settlement of Jamestown in class this fall and then visited the original site as well as the Jamestown Settlement Museum. Students chose 5-6 pictures taken on this trip and wrote descriptions based on what they had learned in class combined with their experience at Jamestown. Working with Mrs. Hallum in the computer lab, students then transferred this information into the Piktochart poster project to share with you. Enjoy!

This week is Computer Science Education week. In celebration of it, all of Grymes will be participating in the Hour of Code. The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. By nurturing computer science, we are encouraging students to think logically, solve problems, and demonstrate creativity. Students in grade 3 will be doing one of the following coding challenges:
