The class will continue to work with the Investigations in Math Shapes software. Today we will explore Quick Images in an activity where students look briefly at an image made up of shapes on the right hand work space before the image goes away. They then work to build a copy of the image in the work space on the left hand side from memory.
Today first grade will start a unit using the Investigations Shapes software. The Shapes software helps children develop their ability to visualize shapes and motions, and the affects of those motions, and to begin to think about the attributes of shapes. Today we will use the Free Explore feature in which the students learn how to select and manipulate shapes and patterns including adding, moving, flipping, turning, changing color, and erasing shapes.
