Students completed their Luray Caverns project today by making an audio recording of a paragraph they wrote in their classroom about their Luray Caverns field trip. They recorded this audio clip onto their Pixie picture that they drew previously.
Today students will use Investigations in Math Shapes software to reinforce math skills they have been learning in math class. The Puzzles activity requires students to select a variety of shapes and manipulate them to correctly fill in a puzzle form.
Today each group of students from second grade will go to the computer lab to use Pixie to try to recreate a monster that they have never seen by using an adjective-filled description written by one of their classmates. This will complete the Monster Adjective Project! Watch for the projects to be posted in the Gallery to see the fun results of this activity.
The second grade class recently took a field trip to Luray Caverns. Today the students will be using Pixie software to create a drawing of their trip to Luray Caverns and will practice using the draw tool, paint fill tool, and smear feature to create their drawings. In class they are writing about what they discovered during their field trip, and later the students will record a narration for their picture. Below are some pictures from Luray Caverns to inspire them in their drawings!
